Insider Reveals What He’s Hearing About Alex Bregman, Tigers
The Detroit Tigers surprised everybody in baseball last season after making the postseason for the first time since 2014 with a record of 86-76.
After being written off in the middle of the season, the Tigers not only made the playoffs but knocked off the Houston Astros in the wild-card round.
The Tigers headed into the offseason with hopes of improving their young roster in an attempt to make another postseason appearance.
With two notable signings already — right-handed starting pitcher Alex Cobb and infielder Gleyber Torres — the Tigers could have their eye on another star free agent.
“I think the Tigers would love to have Alex Bregman, but up to a certain point,” insider Cody Stavenhagen said, via Foul Territory.

Stavenhagen revealed that Bregman going to the Tigers is not imminent, with other teams also interested in the third baseman, including the Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays.
The Tigers want to get Bregman, but they may not be willing to spend top dollar to make a deal happen.
Bregman is one of the top remaining free-agent hitters, and many eyes will be on him until he signs.
In 2024 with the Astros, Bregman played 145 games and batted .260 with 26 home runs, 75 RBIs and a .768 OPS.
The Tigers will be a team to keep an eye on as Bregman weighs his options.
