Deion Sanders Is Saddened By MLB Legend’s Death
The Major League Baseball offseason has been heating up and gaining plenty of attention lately in the baseball world.
Although the offseason has been great thus far, baseball was hit with some devastating news over the weekend.
MLB legend and Hall of Famer Rickey Henderson passed away over the weekend after losing a battle with pneumonia.
Many athletes have expressed their feelings about the death of Henderson, and NFL legend Deion Sanders is the most recent one to release a social media post about Henderson’s passing.

Sanders revealed that Henderson was not only his baseball hero, but he also answered every time Sanders called him.
Henderson played 25 seasons in the MLB with his first coming in 1979 with the Oakland Athletics and his last coming in 2003 with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Many people know Henderson as the ‘stolen base king,’ as he finished his career with 1,406 stolen bases.
Henderson’s career numbers include 3,081 games played, 3,055 hits, 297 home runs, 1,115 RBIs, 1,406 stolen bases, and a .820 OPS.
Many famous athletes have expressed how sad they were to hear about Henderson’s death, but many people likely didn’t know how close Henderson and Sanders were.
Henderson played for nine different teams in his MLB career including the Athletics, Dodgers, Seattle Mariners, Boston Red Sox, San Diego Padres, New York Mets, Los Angeles Angels, Toronto Blue Jays, and New York Yankees.
The stolen base king had over 100 stolen bases in three different seasons throughout his career, and he will be dearly missed by the entire baseball world.
